Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team

CALL OUT 19/2026
Wednesday 20th May (1300hrs)
North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) contacted the team to provide assistance with the extraction of an injured person in Guisborough Woods, close to Silverton Road. The casualty was being treated by NEAS personnel as the team were deploying both Land Rovers and others in their own vehicles. One Land Rover proceeded into the Woods, to a location close to the casualty site. The vacuum mattress, casualty bag , stretcher and wheel were taken to the site.
Once NEAS had completed their medical care, the casualty was loaded into the vacuum mattress then onto the stretcher containing the casualty bag. The wheel was attached to the stretcher for the transfer to the ambulance of approximately 200m .
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery
19 team members were involved for approximately 2.25 hours

A service I hoped I’d never have a need for but am so glad they exist. CMRT were amazing with their response and extraction of me after breaking my ankle when running. I can’t thank you enough for assisting NEAS.

Wow, shows you dont have to be far from civilisation when you might still need help. Hope the patient is soon up and about and enjoying the woods

Thank you so much for all the help you gave my dad! It’s greatly appreciated by my family 🙂

Wishing your son a speedy recovery 🙏🏻

Such a great team of volunteers, thank you for coming to our son Chris’s aid 😘😘 xx
