Emergency Services Day (also known as 999 Day) falls on 9th September each year. As volunteers, mountain rescue teams are an essential part of the emergency services family. Our photo, in recognition of the day, shows a brief snapshot of some of the activities that we have been involved with in 2024.
It is with regret that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Highcliff 4-Stops Walk, previously scheduled for 14th September 2024. Unfortunately we have not sold a viable number of tickets to run the event. We had hoped that a family friendly event of this nature would be popular and that keeping the entry fee low would be…
Next year will be the 60th anniversary of Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team (or Cleveland Search & Rescue as we were originally called). To help celebrate, we are hoping to put together a collection of photographs and (if possible) video clips that chart the history and development of the Team. So if you are a former Team Member or had friends…
The Cleveland Mountain Rescue 4-Tops is back for 2024 - but with a difference! This year our event will be a fun filled day out that everyone can enjoy. The walking / running part of the event will start and finish at Guisborough Rugby Club on Saturday 14th September (times to be confirmed). The route is yet to be finalised…

In a recent News article on this page, we thanked Vicky McFarlane for a donation following her rescue last year and now Vicky has been featured in this Northern Echo article. Thanks for you kind words Vicky (and again for your donation). Screenshot courtesy of the Northern Echo:
The Team recently received a very generous donation of £500 from the Northallerton Lodge of the RAOB. Our Team Leader, Tim Wood, was on hand to receive a cheque from the RAOB's Ken Evitt at a meeting of the group at The Oddfellows pub in Northallerton. Many thanks to the ROAB for such a kind gesture.

It was the latest stage in their walk along the Cleveland Way, which they are doing in seven sections over the course of the spring and summer to raise funds for Cleveland MRT. So it was…
A very welcome visitor to our stand at Saturday’s Great Ayton fete was Vicky McFarlane who was one of ‘our casualties’ back in June last year. Vicky had fallen and sustained a nasty break to her right leg. As a result she had a metal plate fitted and is still recovering but is able to walk. Being immensely greatful for…
