Resources

Rescue Vehicles

We have two rescue Land Rovers which have blue light capability and contain our medical, technical and search and rescue equipment. Both Land Rovers are ambulances and can carry a casualty on a specialist mountain rescue stretcher accompanied by a medic.

Incident Control and Dog Unit SUV

We have a mobile Incident Control vehicle available to co-ordinate search and rescue operations plus a Mercedes SUV (on loan from Mercedes-Benz of Teesside) available to transport Team members, search dogs or equipment. Team members use their own vehicles on call-outs, some with 4×4 vehicles.

Team Base & Control

Our Base is on the outskirts of Great Ayton where we store and maintain the vehicles and equipment. It has a modern control room where we can co-ordinate our search and rescue operations and can communicate with all other emergency services.

Join the team

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.

Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
