We have two rescue Land Rovers which have blue light capability and contain our medical, technical and search and rescue equipment. Both Land Rovers are ambulances and can carry a casualty on a specialist mountain rescue stretcher accompanied by a medic.

We have a Mercedes SUV (on loan from Mercedes-Benz of Teesside) available to help our Support Team with their fundraising work and to transport S&R members and equipment on call-outs and training. Most Team members use their own vehicles on call-outs, some with 4×4 vehicles.
We have an Incident Control vehicle available to co-ordinate S&R operations and to support events.
Our Base is on the outskirts of Great Ayton where we store and maintain the vehicles and equipment. It has a modern control room which we can also use for operations and events.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role are advertised when recruitment is required.
Generally, there is an annual intake for Search and Rescue members with the process starting in Feb/March leading to starting as a Prospective member in September.
Intake for Operational Support members occurs less frequently. This process usually starts in Feb/March leading to Probationary member status around June.
