Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Great Broughton & Kirkby News, Views & Events Facebook Group Fundraiser.
This group was created just before lockdown in March, to bring the communities of Gt Broughton and Kirkby together. All 600 members!
Apart from sharing information and providing people with a social outlet both during and after lockdown, they run a profile picture competition, fortnightly, with the winner’s photo being displayed at the top of the page.
Having had some great photos entered, they decided to design a charity calendar using the photos. Members of the fb group then voted for the two charities they’d like to benefit from the sale of the calendars and we are glad to say they chose us Cleveland MRT and Great North Air Ambulance Service
Having sold 109 calendars, they have raised £614 in profit and this will be split with ourselves & GNAAS, so will receive £307 each.
Attached is a photo of the calendar that was produced. All winner’s photos were taken by local residents.

RIP Hamish MacInnes
In addition to being a world-class mountaineer, Hamish had a lifelong interest in mountain rescue.
Today, the stretcher he designed is well known as the MacInnes Stretcher throughout the world. He was influential in bringing Search and Rescue Dogs to the UK.
