In 2018 Mercedes-Benz of Teesside provided Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team with an on-loan Mercedes GLC 4×4. That car was a huge help to Team members, immediately transforming their capabilities – by transporting search dogs, supporting search & rescue operations and as a key resource to support fundraising activities.
During the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic the GLC was at the forefront of the Team’s efforts to support local communities, for example it was used to deliver large quantities of PPE to council care services.
In June 2020 the Team took delivery of a replacement on-loan vehicle – a Mercedes GLB 4×4. In recognition of the support from Mercedes-Benz of Teesside we recently prepared an update on what the vehicle has been used for in it’s first 18-months with the Team. The document can be downloaded below.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
