How would you like to raise money for CMRT
The Lyke Wake Walk was created by Bill Cowley in 1955 and designed to cross the North Yorks Moors at it’s widest and highest points. The route runs between Scarth Wood Moor, Osmotherley and Ravenscar. The 40 miles of beautiful moorland in the NYM National Park is one of the countries original ‘challenge’ walks.
I lead on this walk 10-15 times a year and we’re doing a crossing on Saturday 23rd August for CMRT, it’s free for you, we’ll give you a training plan and free training walks you simply have to commit to raising £300 for CMR. We’re not charging, every penny will go to CMRT.
You will need a reasonable level of fitness, we suggest that between now and the event you walk 20+ miles twice a month as a minimum, obviously the more training you do the easier it will be.
We’re going to do the classic W-E crossing, we’ll meet at 0400 at Cod Beck and walk to Ravenscar, the walk generally takes 16-18 hours, we’ll have a support vehicle and 3 checkpoints.

Places are strictly limited to 15 people, to avoid any costs there will be no transport provided so you will need to be dropped off and picked up and we’ll be able to arrange car sharing.
You have got time to get fit enough for this. If you’d like to join the walk please email through our website or message via our Facebook page with a contact number and we’ll get in touch. ... See MoreSee Less
