Today is the start of our 2023 Recruit Induction Programme for eleven candidates who successfully passed a recruit assessment held in June. They will join us tonight to be welcomed as ‘prospective members’ and will then undergo approximately three-months of training and familiarisation in the role of a search & rescue member. Hopefully, that will lead to them becoming probationary members in January 2024.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
