We were very pleased to welcome to our Base, Ian Rowan and his family as a ‘thank you’ for Ian’s fundraising for us when he ran the London Marathon in April.
The total raised by Ian via Just Giving stands at £1,344 plus his employers Johnson Matthey have donated an extra £1,000 to the Team as part of an employee match funding programme. When Gift Aid on the amount raised through Just Giving is taken into account, that means Ian has raised a fantastic £2,637 for the Team! Many, many thanks to Ian and to his family who we know gave him great support during the build up to the marathon and on the day.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
