On Monday 17th April 2023, Team members and our President Peter Scrope (Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire) welcomed Clare Granger, the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire, to our Base.
After the visit she said ‘Thank you so much for such a great visit for me, we so enjoyed it. I was so incredibly impressed by what you and the team do. Everyone we met was so impressive; they are all such hardworking, dedicated and talented people. I want to thank you on behalf of all of us for all that you all do’.
Thank you for coming to see us Clare and we’re glad that you found the visit both informative and enjoyable.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
