On Monday 21st April, a few members will be present at Redcar Races to collect donations to fund the activities of the team.
This year, being our 60th year , one of the races has been donated in recognition of the service we provide to the community.. The race at 1430 has been named
“Celebrating 60 Years of Cleveland Mountain Rescue Handicap”.
We appreciate Redcar Racing donating one of their races in recognition of our 60th anniversary and for allowing us to collect once again at the event.
Those attending, enjoy an afternoon at the races !!
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

MIDWEEK TRAINING
This week the training was in Roseberry Topping area and involved a carousel of skills activities at three locations. The skills required the use of personal kit, simulating what could be encountered in a real situation before team equipment arrives. The skills were, create a sling for a dislocated shoulder and deal with a newly confused , hypothermic person. At the third location, a person with a head injury required air ambulance support.A suitable landing zone had to be identified and how to talk to the helicopter crew.
