At the end of May, Hutton Rudby held their annual folk festival. Once again the organisers selected the team as their chosen charity. On the Sunday, a number of members attended along with two vehicles.
Today, the organisers of the multi day event, visited the base to present the team with a cheque for £3000. They were shown round the base to see what their donation contributes to supporting.
Thank you once again to everyone who contributed.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

CALL OUT 33/2026 and CALLOUT 34/2026
Tuesday 21 July (1720hrs) and Wednesday 22 July (2145hrs)
North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) contacted the team on consecutive days to provide assistance at 2 incidents.
The first, on Tuesday, the team were requested to provide assistance for a fallen horse rider in a field close to Errington Woods. While the team awaited confirmation of the need to attend from the ambulance crew at the scene, those members close to the base prepared the vehicles while others remained on stand by. The team were stood down by NEAS once the casualty had been assessed.
The second on Wednesday was to attend to an injured person close to the shooting hut at Roseberry Topping. The team had just completed the evening training session at Clay Bank when the call was received. All team members headed to the RV at Aireyholme Farm. As the team were arriving at the farm with both Land Rovers heading to the hut over the fields, we were notified by NEAS that we were not required and were stood down.
Thank you to the Phelp family for once again providing the team with access through the farm and fields along with allowing the yard to be used as the RV.
For both call outs, 22 members were available.
