The team were contacted by North Yorkshire Police to assist with an urban search for an elderly vulnerable person in the Northallerton area. The team deployed one Land Rover and the Incident Control Vehicle to the RV location along with other available team members in their own vehicles. Not long after deployment to the RV, with a number of members en route, a find was made in a nearby location. The person was transferred to an ambulance and transferred to hospital.
12 team members were involved for approximately 2 hours, including the return of vehicles to the base.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
