Sixteen Team members were involved in a search for a missing man in Hartlepool. Very sadly a body was found during the search and we subsequently stood down whilst the Police continued with their enquiries.
Our sincere condolences to the deceased’s family and friends.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

If you’ve been braving the elements these last few days then you will be ideally placed to enter next year’s Cleveland Survival. Entries are now open for the event which takes place on 29th March 2025.
It could be dry or wet, warm or cold - or all of them on the same day. Who knows? One thing to be certain of, is that it will be a rewarding experience and great fun. If you’ve done the Survival before then it’s time to enter again. If you’re a ‘newbie’ then please consider giving it a go - you won’t be disappointed!

The Survival is open to runners and walkers based on an orienteering course, with a route of around 20 miles, to be completed within the time limit.
