Search – Hartlepool

THURSDAY 2ND JUNE 2022

Cleveland Police contacted us to help in the search for a missing man in the Hartlepool area. Team members and vehicles were deployed to cover a search area identified by the police. We also requested support from ‘Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England’ – so two handlers and their dogs from Swaledale MRT later assisted in the search.

We were stood-down by the police after darkness fell, with the call-out lasting just over 11-hours. Fourteen Cleveland MRT members plus the two Swaledale MRT handlers & dogs were involved with another of our members coordinating the initial response from home.

The following day the police reported that very sadly a man’s body had been found outside of our nominated search area. Our condolences to his friends and family.
