THURSDAY 15TH APRIL 2021
Cleveland MRT members have today been deployed outside of our area in support of colleagues from the neighbouring Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team in a search for a person missing since the previous evening.
A total of five MRTs from the north-east plus RAF Leeming MRT have been involved in the search (including with MR search dogs) plus Police and Coastguard personnel. Unfortunately, the missing person was not located in the allocated search areas and police investigations were on-going.
Twelve Cleveland MRT members were involved for approximately six hours plus travelling time.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
