Search Call-out near Ebberston

MONDAY 6TH DECEMBER 2021

We were contacted by our colleagues at Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team (SRMRT) with a request to support them with an on-going search for a missing person on behalf of North Yorkshire Police.

Having been asked to assist with the search near Dalby Forest during the afternoon, our Team members were deployed along with two vehicles. As well as SRMRT personnel there were also others from the Royal Air Force Mountain Rescue Service (RAF Leeming MRT) and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (search dogs / handlers from Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team).

Thankfully, just before we deployed from the RV-point we were informed that the young lady had been located safe and well. She had been found walking on a forest track by one of the dog handlers (from Swaledale MRT) on his way to the start of his search area. She was recovered by SRMRT to be reunited with her family.

Our eight Team members were then able to return home. Time involved – approximately 4-hours including travel.
