Thursday 16th July 2020. We were contacted by Cleveland Police shortly after midnight with a request to assist in searching for an 86-year old woman who had been reported as missing in the Saltburn area. After arranging an RV-point with the Police and as Team members were deploying from their homes, the Police reported that she had thankfully been found safe and well. We were able to stand-down about 30-minutes after being contacted. 17 Team members were involved (plus two co-ordinating our response remotely) for approximately 30-minutes.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
