Roseberry Topping Rescue

It has been a busy few days for the Team, Following the deployment of our water assets over last weekend we had a rescue callout at 1500 hrs on Thursday afternoon(19th Jan) when we were asked by the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to assist with a young lady who had fallen heavily on the path leading up to Roseberry Topping.

The 29 year old Bishop Aukland lady was on her way back to the car park at Newton Under Roseberry at about 1330 hrs when she slipped on the muddy path and sustaining back injuries. 16 members of the team attended the incident and, assisted by the NEAS paramedic stabilised the lady and carried her on a specialised mountain rescue stretcher 400 metres to an ambulance waiting at the car park. The incident lasted about one and a half hours.
