Saturday 28th November 2020.
We were contacted at 1323 hours by the North East Ambulance Service to assist them with a man who had been taken ill on Roseberry Topping.
A number of Team members were deployed and when the first of them arrived at the scene they gave assistance to the man. A short time later he later was well enough to walk to our Team Land Rover Ambulance and was driven to a nearby farm where a crew from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service was waiting. By then he declared himself fit enough to travel home so we transported him and a relative back to their car to make their own way home.
Twenty-three Team members attended plus one co-ordinating our response remotely (and with others en route). The incident lasted approximately 1.5 hours plus further time to return our vehicle to Base for cleaning and decontamination.
Many thanks to everyone at Aireyholme Farm for providing access through their land.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.Join Now
