17th June , 1350 hours
The team were contacted by North Yorkshire Police to provide assistance to a person injured on Roseberry Topping. The individual was part of a school group descending on the main path on west side of Roseberry.
The team despatched both Land Rovers to Aireyholme Farm and other members in their own vehicles. From there, personnel were transferred to the casualty site via the Shooting Box.
The individual was treated by a Remote Rescue Medical Technician for a lower leg injury. Once the person’s injury was stabilised they were transferred by a Land Rover down to Airyholme Farm, accompanied by a teacher. The school arranged the forward transfer to hospital for further medical assessment
We wish the individual a speedy recovery.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
