FRIDAY 13 JUNE (1245hrs)
The team were contacted by North Yorkshire Police to assist a person who had been thrown from a horse in Boltby Forest close to Steeple Cross.
Both Land Rovers were dispatched with other members in their own vehicles to the top of Kepwick Bank on The Cleveland Way. The Rovers with full crews proceeded to Steeple Cross ,then the personnel walked with kit to the casualty site.
At the site the casualty was made stable for an upper leg injury and given pain relief. The person was then placed into the vacuum mattress on the rescue stretcher. The stretcher was wheeled approx. 500m to Steeple Cross where the casualty was passed over to the waiting ambulance crew.
Thanks to the member of Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) MRT and an ex team member who were in the area and assisted the team.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
