Sunday 10th November 1420 hrs
We were alerted by the ambulance service to go to the aid of a lady from Marske who had collapsed whilst on a walk along the Guisborough walkway with her family. The lady was initially treated at the scene by a passing GP before ambulance paramedics and then our team doctors arrived at the incident site which was about a mile from the visitors centre at Pinchinthorpe.
Sadly, she did not recover and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
