Eston Hills Call-out

SUNDAY 21ST MARCH 2021

We were contacted by the North East Ambulance Service in the afternoon to assist their ambulance crews who were attending a report of an injured motorcyclist in Eston Hills.

Police, Fire and Air Ambulance units were also en route to the scene.

Team members were alerted and two double-crewed Land Rover ambulances were dispatched. Another Team member was close to the incident scene and was soon there providing assistance to the ambulance and air ambulance crews in treating the casualty.

After treatment the casualty, a 16-year old boy, was loaded onto a mountain rescue stretcher and transported in one of our Land Rovers to a waiting NEAS ambulance for onward transport to hospital.

Cleveland Police later announced that the boy had sadly died. Our thoughts go his family and friends.

Five Team Members were deployed with one other co-ordinating our response remotely. In addition a further 15 members were available but not required owing to the multi-agency response at the scene.
