Following on from the assistance provided on Wednesday evening (see call-out 7/2021) to a District Nurse to reach a patient in Loftus, we received a further request (from another nurse) in relation to the same patient at 0445 hours the following morning. Although the water level had dropped slightly it was still deemed impassable for the nurse’s vehicle so we again used one of our Land Rovers for transportation to and from the property.
Always happy to be able to support our Community Nursing Teams in this type of way as they provide such a valuable service throughout the area.
Two Team members were involved for approximately 1.45 hours.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
