Disoriented walkers – Osmotherley

SUNDAY 29TH JANUARY 2023 (1740 hours)

INCIDENT TYPE: LIMITED DEPLOYMENT

Not long after the Team had stood down from weekend practice, we received a call from North Yorkshire Police concerning two walkers who had become disoriented in darkness, somewhere near Osmotherley after spending the day walking with their two dogs. After talking to the ladies and confirming their What3Words location via the mountain rescue Phone Find system to be on the Cleveland Way south-east of Osmotherley, our call-out Officer told them to remain where they were and dispatched a double-crewed Land Rover from our Base.

Within one-hour of receiving the call the ladies and dogs had been found safe & well and had been transported back to their car in the village.

Three team members were involved for approximately 1.5 hours including travel time back to our Base.
