Friday 6th March 2020. We were called out at 10pm to the Carlton Bank area to a report of a 15 year old girl from a scout group with an ankle injury. Team members deployed via a nearby farm to reach the injured girl 800m up a hillside. She was treated on scene and carried on one of our specialist stretchers down to the farm and handed over to the waiting ambulance crew. 18 Team members were involved for approximately 2.5 hours.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
