SUNDAY 24TH APRIL 2022 (2130 HOURS)
We were contacted by North Yorkshire Police with a request to assist them in a search for a missing person.
One of our Team members was sent to liaise with the Police at an RV-point and others, who had been allocated as drivers, were sent to our Base to collect the vehicles. The remainder of our available Team members were preparing to deploy when the Police re-contacted us with the good news that the person had been found safe and well.
A total of 22 Team Members were either en route or about to deploy. Another was coordinating the response from home. The incident lasted just under 30-minutes.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
