Our 49th callout of the year occurred just after pm on Sunday, 6th October. We were asked to help find a vulnerable Saltburn teenager who was reported as being in the vicinity of the viaduct.
The teenager was quickly located by team members and escorted to a waiting ambulance.
Fourteen team members were involved for around an hour.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

CALL-OUT 45/2024
WEDNESDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2024 (1545 HOURS)
For the second Wednesday afternoon running we had a call-out to deal with, before our regular Wednesday night training session. This time it was even quicker than last week as we were stood down en route:
We received a report from North Yorkshire Police of a disorientated, lost walker somewhere in the area of Roseberry Topping / Captain Cook’s Monument. The weather at the time was described as wet and foggy.
Unfortunately we were unable to get through to the walker by phone so it was decided to deploy all available Team members, in case a full search was necessary. However, whilst our volunteers were en route, North Yorkshire Police advised us that the walker had been located by them on a road in the area and that we could stand down.
Eighteen Cleveland MRT members were involved and/or en route for the very brief period of just twenty-two minutes!
