Just as we had repacked the vehicles after callout number 3 we were alerted to assist with a Northallerton lady who had slipped whilst on a walk from the car park at Clay Bank, above Great Broughton. The lady was about 300 metres from the nearest road up a grassy slope on the Cleveland Way Path.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics from the ambulance service and team doctors and personnel before being carried on a specialised mountain rescue stretcher down the hillside to the waiting ambulance.
This incident lasted around an hour.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.Join Now
