Friday 10th March 1600hrs.
We were informed about a 52 year old mountain biker who had crashed and who was reported as having head injuries. Sixteen members of the Team responded to the callout and managed to reach the accident site in their Landrover ambulances. The man was treated at the scene by team members before being transported off the moortop in one of the Landrovers he was then transfered to an ambulance for transport to James Cook University Hospital.
The incident lasted 3.25 hrs
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
