TUESDAY 13TH APRIL 2021
We were called at 1920 hours by North Yorkshire Police to assist with the recovery of a body found near Lordstones. The person was on very steep ground and a technical extraction was needed to bring the body up to a footpath. The person was then carried to our Rescue Land Rover and taken to Lordstones to be then handed over to the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
Nine Team Members were involved in the incident with one more at home co-ordinating our response. The incident lasted four hours with more time needed the next morning to sort the equipment and vehicle. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the deceased person.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
