We received a request for assistance from Cleveland Police to assist a disorientated walker. As a precaution the full-Team was dispatched but thankfully the walker was soon located safe and well and was then able to return home.
Nineteen Team members were involved for approximately 1.75-hours although some were stood-down en route as no longer required.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Following the early morning call out on Wednesday it was back to training in the evening.
Some of the team were involved in a search and rescue training exercise, with a casualty in the Roseberry Topping area. On finding the casualty, just above Newton Woods ,the heavens opened. In bleak conditions the team put together both the rescue stretcher and the wheel, moved down the hillside then dismantled the equipment. On returning to the RV in the car park, the rain stopped!!
The conditions were a good test for the team Helly Hansen outer layer clothing.

Other members were staying dry at the base, introducing the team to 22 people interested in joining. The evening provided a snapshot of the various activities ranging from Support, Water, Tech,Medical, Comms, Vehicles to Search Dogs.
At the end of the evening there was a lot interest in being part of this year's intake.
