Callout number 8 of the year took us towards the southwest boundary of our area to help search for a 53 year old male missing from the estate at Arden Hall near Hawnby.
Twenty of us, and search dog Bonnie, searched in very wet and sometimes misty conditions from 0130 until around 0500. With the feeling that the missing person was avoiding us we stood down with the intention to returning in daylight if needed.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
