SUNDAY 16TH JUNE 2024 (1706 HOURS)
A relatively brief call-out this afternoon at the request of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service regarding a walker who had sustained an arm injury after a fall near Wainstones just off the Cleveland Way.
Upon our arrival the casualty was just being assisted into an air ambulance, so we were soon able to stand down after transporting the walker’s companions to their overnight accommodation. Eighteen Team members were involved or en route when stood down. The incident lasted just over 1.25-hours.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
