Ambulance Assistance – near Sutton Bank

SUNDAY 12TH JUNE 2022 (1132 HOURS)

Our Team members are racking up the miles this month with five call-outs so far in June; this one being our second within 24-hours.

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service requested our assistance just north of Sutton Bank with a report of a mountain biker having suffered facial injuries after coming off his bike. An ambulance rapid response vehicle was en route but we were required owing to the location being across farmland (it was on the Cleveland Way above Gormire Lake).

Two triple-crewed Team Land Rovers were deployed along with other Team members making their way to a nearby RV-point in their own vehicles. However, upon the arrival of the first of our personnel it became clear that our assistance was no longer necessary as the paramedics had got the casualty into an ambulance that had managed to get part way along a farm track. At that point we stood-down and were able to return home and/or back to Base.

We wish the rider a full and speedy recovery. Many thanks to everyone at Dialstone Farm for access via their land.

Seventeen Cleveland MRT members were there or en route when stood-down by our call-out officer who was working from home. The call-out lasted for just over 2.5 hours including all travel time.
