The Team were contacted by Yorkshire Ambulance Service( YAS) to provide assistance with the extraction of a male from a muddy path on the outskirts of Great Ayton. The casualty was unable to move due to a lower limb injury.
A team Land Rover with 4 team members was dispatched and was able to park within 100m of the casualty location. Other members in their personal vehicles headed to the RV in Great Ayton, from where it was a walk to the site.
At the site, the casualty was given pain relief prior to a vacuum splint being applied to his injured leg. Once stable, he was lifted onto the rescue stretcher. The wheel was applied to the stretcher for the 100m transfer to the Land Rover, from where he was driven the short distance to the waiting road ambulance.
We wish him well in his recovery.
