North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) contacted the team, to provide assistance to move a casualty from a location inaccessible to an ambulance. As the team were preparing to leave the base with a Land Rover and other team members were making their way to the RV, the team received notification that the casualty had been able to mobilise to the ambulance.
A total of 12 members were involved for 30 minutes.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
