The team were contacted by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to provide assistance with the rescue of an individual who had suddenly collapsed in a remote location on Snilesworth Moor. When the team arrived at the RV, the assistance was to recover a body. The team deployed a Land Rover to a location as close as possible to the casualty site and then carried in the relevant kit including the stretcher approximately 900m. Once the person was transferred to the Land Rover , it was driven 1.5km to the farm where the ambulance was waiting.
The team offers its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
