Sunday 31st May (13:30hrs)
The team were requested to provide assistance to North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) who were attending to an individual who had fallen a few metres down the embankment of Saltburn Beck and had potentially sustained a head injury. Both LandRovers and others in their own vehicles headed to the RV point in Saltburn. Around the time of the ambulance crew arrival on scene , two team members also arrived. The individual had been able to extricate themselves from the water. The person was medically assessed on bankside and deemed to be ok to walk to the nearby ambulance, for onward transfer to hospital.
We wish the person a speedy recovery
26 team members were involved , either on scene or en route for approximately 1.5 hours
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
