Wednesday 01 Apr (1030hrs)
The team were contacted by North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to provide assistance with the extraction of a person who had fallen from a horse in Errington Woods, New Marske. The team deployed both Land Rovers ,along with other team members to a RV point at Errington Woods. One Land Rover proceeded into the woods to the casualty site.The other vehicle remained on the road due to the narrow slippery track the other vehicle was taking.
At the casualty site the person was treated by the paramedics and loaded into the vacuum mattress and casualty bag on the mountain rescue stretcher.The team then transferred the casualty on foot to the waiting ambulance.

16 team members were involved for approximately 2 hours
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
