Ambulance Assist – Capt. Cook’s Monument

MONDAY 15TH SEPT (1320 hrs)

Following a quiet period for call outs, we had our first for September. We received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist a person who was suffering from a medical condition close to Captain’ Cook’s Monument . The team deployed both Rovers from the base ,along with other members, heading to Gribdale Gate car park. From the car park, both Rovers transferred personnel up to the monument. At the casualty site, the person was treated by YAS and Yorkshire Air Ambulance personnel. Having improved significantly, the decision was made to transfer the person to hospital using the land ambulance. To transfer the casualty to the waiting ambulance in the car park ,one Rover was emptied of the contents to allow the stretcher to be loaded into the vehicle for the journey down the hill.

We wish the casualty a speedy recovery

A total of 18 members were involved for approximately 2.5 hours

Thanks to the paramedic,Gemma, from the air ambulance, for the aerial shot.
