Ambulance assist at Roseberry Topping

Wednesday 02 Sept (1235hrs)

The team received their 3rd call out in a 24 hour period from North East Ambulance Service (NEAS), to provide assistance to a person who had collapsed on Roseberry Topping.The team members involved in the call out at Highcliffe all transferred to the RV at Aireyholme Farm along with the second Land Rover. Also on scene were Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS), who were the first to arrive at the casualty. One Land Rover proceeded up to the col from the farm collecting 2 paramedics en route. Team members were dispatched onto the hill with the required  equipment including technical rope  kit. Following the assessment by the GNAAS crew and time, the casualty with support, was able to walk down to one of the Land Rovers. The Rover transported the person  and ambulance crew down to the ambulance at Aireyholme Farm.

We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.

Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
