Rescue – Cleveland Way, Kirby Bank

CALL-OUT No. 12

SATURDAY 22nd MARCH (1250 hours)

The team were contacted by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) for the second time in two days. This time to provide assistance to a female suffering from a medical condition on The Cleveland Way close to the top of Kirby Bank.

Team vehicles and members were despatched to Beak Hills Farm. Those members arriving before the Land Rovers, were transferred by the farmer in his 4X4 vehicle to The Cleveland Way.

Once with the casualty, a team medic assessed her condition. When assessed as stable she was transferred to a rescue stretcher and taken off the bank. The route down was initially challenging requiring a carry, hand over hand transfer then at an appropriate location the wheel was added to the stretcher. The stretcher was moved about 500m to the Land Rovers.

The casualty was transferred to a Rover and taken to Beak Hills Farm where an ambulance was waiting.

We hope the lady has a quick recovery.

Once again thanks to Beak Hills Farm for use of the farm as the RV and for transferring members to the vicinity of the rescue location. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

22 team members were involved.
