Rescue – Roseberry Topping

We were contacted by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to provide assistance with the extraction of a male who had suffered a lower leg injury near the summit of Roseberry Topping.

The team deployed two Land Rovers and a number of Team members to Aireyholme Farm, from where they were shuttled to a position close to the casualty site.

Once the casualty had been stabilised,  given appropriate pain relief and transferred to the rescue stretcher , he was “sledged” approximately 300m then carried the final section over a muddy section to a Land Rover. The Land Rover transferred him to the waiting ambulance at the farm.

We wish him a speedy recovery.

Once again thanks to Aireyholme Farm for use of the farm as the RV and for access to Roseberry Topping area.

Sixteen Cleveland MRT members were involved for approximately  2 hours plus the time required to make the vehicles call out ready
