The third day of deployment for Cleveland MRT members who again travelled north to support colleagues at Teesdale and Weardale Search & MRT in their efforts to locate missing person Jenny Hall at the request of Durham Constabulary. Very sadly, following the discovery by Police of a body in a remote area, the search came to a tragic conclusion during the morning.
Our thoughts are with Jenny’s family and friends at this time.
Seven Cleveland members were deployed for just under six-hours including travel time.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

WEDNESDAY EVENING - TRAINING EVENING
This week’s training was at Errington Woods near Marske.
The evening was in two parts. Part one was to become familiar with the mountain bike trails in the woods and identify potential extraction routes, including one for air ambulance support. The other part was around casualty handling with the emphasis on head and spinal injuries.
Errington Woods has been a location where we have attended to a number of mountain bike accidents over the past few years. A relevant session for the location.
