Over the year, we deployed to 52 call-outs and dealt with 27 other incidents (such as providing safety cover or being on standby)
Many, many thanks to our Search & Rescue, Ops Support and Support members who devoted so much of their free time operationally, in training, fundraising or generally keeping the Team running behind the scenes. Also, thanks to members of the public and organisations who have contributed so much throughout the year. There are far too many of you to mention here but without your financial and other support we would not be able to do the work that we do.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Looking back through some of our old reports (from the last Century!) one of them contains the following note in relation to the Team’s establishment in 1965:
‘With an increasing number of visitors to the North York Moors there were incidents of people going missing or getting hurt, particularly on the ever popular Lyke Wake Walk’.
Thankfully such incidents on the Walk are now less common. However, as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary, it is very fitting that we can announce a significant donation of £2,250 from the organisers of the Lyke Wake Challenge! Very many thanks to them and to everyone who has contributed to that donation, which will help us to continue our voluntary search & rescue service.
