Lost walker – Roseberry Topping area

WEDNESDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2024 (1545 HOURS)

For the second Wednesday afternoon running we had a call-out to deal with before our regular Wednesday night training session. This time it was even quicker than last week as we were stood down en route:

We received a report from North Yorkshire Police of a disorientated, lost walker somewhere in the Roseberry Topping / Captain Cook’s Monument area. The weather at the time was described as wet and foggy.

Unfortunately we were unable to get through to the walker by phone so it was decided to deploy all available members in case a full search was necessary. However, whilst Team members were en route, North Yorkshire Police advised us that the walker had been located on a road in the area and that we could stand down.

Eighteen members were involved and/or en route for the very brief period of just twenty-two minutes!
