Next year will be the 60th anniversary of Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team (or Cleveland Search & Rescue as we were originally called). To help celebrate, we are hoping to put together a collection of photographs and (if possible) video clips that chart the history and development of the Team.
So if you are a former Team Member or had friends or family in the the Team, and would be happy to share copies of photos or videos that you may have, it would be great to hear from you. They could be of members, vehicles, equipment, training, rescues and so on.
They may then be used as part of our celebrations and to help publicise any related activities. Anything from the earlier days would be especially welcome. As would any anecdotes or memories from former Team members (and families etc), even if you don’t have photos.
It would also be great to hear from any casualties who we have helped since being formed in 1965.
If you could help, please could you message us or drop us a note via pro@clevelandmrt.org.uk and we will get back in touch as soon as possible in order to discuss possibly making copies of any photos / videos and to perhaps share any anecdotes etc. Many thanks!
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
