SATURDAY 22ND JUNE 2024
As a follow-up to call-out 25/2026, we were again contacted by Cleveland Police asking us to deploy Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England to cover additional areas of ground. Support was received from dog handlers Brian and Andrew from Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team with search dogs Tess and Bramble respectively and handler Johnny from Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association with Storm. Many thanks to them as they were able to cover a lot of ground in good time.
With no sightings of the missing person and having completed the search areas requested by the Police the five Cleveland MRT members and the dog handlers stood down for the day (after approximately six-hours).
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
